An original title sequence
I was tasked with creating an opening sequence for a fictional show of my own creation, titled “Frenzy”. After storyboarding and establishing a visual language, I used digital frame animation to bring the concept to life. With the addition of text animation and an original score, “Frenzy” is ready to thrill and mystify the audience.
Explaining my process.
I created this video explaining my motion graphic design process for the grand opening of the UC Digital Futures Building. As a member of the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy team, I was tasked with demonstrating my skills and process for visitors who may not be familiar with design.
Tattoos in motion.
After completing an independent study in tattoo illustration, I wanted to do something transformative with my final designs. Since tattoos are exclusively static pieces of art, motion was the next natural step.
Learning from the best.
When tasked with redesigning the opening title sequence of any movie, the iconic Sal Bass immediately came to mind. Bass’s designs are featured in movies such as The Man with the Golden Arm, Psycho, and North by Northwest.
I implemented a similar irregular geometric aesthetic from Bass’s midcentury designs on a more modern thriller: The Shining.
Making a first impression.
When tasked with creating an introduction for myself, I immediately thought of the iconic intro from The Power Puff Girls. I put my own spin on it to represent myself more accurately.
A quick tutorial.
I wanted to explore a different application of motion design that was less of a long form narrative and more of a short demonstration.
